An Aer Lingus Airbus A320-200, registration EI-DEE performing flight EI-441 from Athens (Greece) to Dublin (Ireland), was climbing out of Athens' runway 21R when the aircraft received a bird strike prompting the crew to stop the climb at FL070 and return to Athens for a safe landing on runway 21L about 25 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration EI-DEG positioned from Dublin to Athens and performed the flight reaching Dublin with a delay of about 10.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Athens about 55 hours after landing back.
