A Lufthansa A319-100, registration D-AILM performing flight LH-143 from Nuremberg to Frankfurt (Germany), was climbing out of Nuremberg's runway 10 when a bird impacted the right hand engine (CFM56) prompting the crew to stop the climb at 5000 feet and return to Nuremberg for a safe landing on runway 10 about 20 minutes after departure.

The aircraft returned to service about 56 hours after landing back.
