A Mahan Air Avro RJ-100, registration EP-MOG performing flight
W5-1055 from Tehran Mehrabad to Kerman (Iran) with 66 people on board, was on approach to Kerman when the crew went around due to an unstable approach, positioned for another approach and landed 13 minutes later, however, touched down hard, the tail contacted the runway surface.
Kerman Airport reported there were no injuries in the "unconventional landing", the technical causes of the landing are under investigation.
Preliminary investigation results confirm a hard landing and tail strike.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Kerman on Aug 24th 2024.
