A Salam Air Airbus A321-200N, registration A4O-OXB performing flight OV-134 from Duqm to Muscat (Oman), was on approach to Muscat when the crew received a TCAS resolution advisory.

Another Salam Air Airbus A321-200N, registration A4O-OXD performing flight OV-258 from Al-Fujairah (United Arab Emirates) to Muscat (Oman), was on approach to Muscat as well and also received a TCAS resolution advisory.

Oman's AIB rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation stating: "Both aircraft experienced TCAS TA followed by TCAS RA during descent flight."

According to ADS-B data transmitted by both aircraft the aircraft were descending through the same altitude at a horizontal separation of about 3.5nm, the separation subsequently reduced to 2.17nm lateral separation and 600 feet vertical separation.
