A Star Air Freight Boeing 767-200 on behalf of European Air Transport, registration SE-RLB performing flight QY-2883 from Dublin (Ireland) to East Midlands,EN (UK) with 2 crew, was in the initial climb out of Dublin's runway 10R when the crew declared PAN PAN reporting a forward cargo smoke indication. The aircraft levelled off at 4000 feet and on ATC vectors positioned for a return to runway 10R. About 6 minutes later the crew declared Mayday reporting they had a fire in the forward cargo department. The aircraft landed safely on Dublin's runway 10R and vacated the runway, the crew reported there was no fire or smoke.

The aircraft returned to service after about 48 hours on the ground in Dublin.
