A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration HB-IJL performing flight LX-1058 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Hamburg (Germany), was climbing out of Zurich's runway 32 when the aircraft received a lightning strike. The crew stopped the climb at FL310 and decided to return to Zurich, where the aircraft landed safely on runway 28 about 40 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration HB-IJI reached Hamburg with a delay of about 2.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 13 hours after landing back.
