A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration HB-JHC performing flight LX-72 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Washington Dulles,DC (USA) with 220 people on board, was enroute at FL320 over the English Channel about 70nm north of Brest (France) when the crew decided to return to Zurich. The aircraft landed safely on Zurich's runway 14 about 90 minutes later.

The airline reported all toilets at the left hand side failed due to a clogged waste pipe. A replacement aircraft delivered the passengers to Washington with a delay of about 5 hours.

A replacement A330-300 registration HB-JHH reached Washington with a delay of about 4:40 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Zurich about 25 hours after landing.
