A Swiss International Airlines Bombardier C-Series CS-100, registration HB-JBI performing flight LX-340 from Zurich (Switzerland) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was climbing through FL340 out of Zurich when the crew decided to return to Zurich reporting a strange odour in the cockpit. The aircraft descended and positioned for an approach to runway 14 when the crew declared Mayday reporting engine (PW1524G) problems. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 14 about 45 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service after about 57 hours on the ground.
