UA-108 from Washington Dulles,DC (USA) to Munich (Germany), was enroute at FL390 about 130nm northnortheast of Boston,MA (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Boston due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft landed safely on Boston's runway 22L about one hour after leaving FL390.
A passenger reported the crew announced a cracked windshield as reason for the diversion.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Boston about 16 hours after landing.
