A Westjet Boeing 737-700, registration C-FWSV performing flight
WS-514 from Comox,BC to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 64 people on board, was accelerating for takeoff from Comox with the first officer being pilot flying, when the first officer's seat moved backwards. The captain took control of the aircraft and rejected takeoff at about 120 KIAS. The aircraft slowed safely. The aircraft returned to the apron, the passengers disembarked.
The Canadian TSB reported due to a malfunction the seat did not latch in position and stated: "A maintenance inspection of the first officer's seat found excessive play in a seat control handle, resulting in difficulty engaging seat locking pins. The seat was removed and replaced, and the aircraft was returned to service."
