A Westjet Boeing 737-800, registration C-FAWJ performing flight
WS-556 from Calgary,AB to Kitchener,ON (Canada), was a RNAV approach to Kitchener's runway 26 when the crew received a TCAS resolution advisory to climb and followed the instruction.
A Cessna 152 was enroute VFR to Kitchener Airport, when the conflict with the Boeing developed.
The Canadian TSB reported the separation reduced to 400 feet vertical and 0.4nm lateral separation. Once the aircraft were clear of conflict the Boeing was able to continue the approach and landing. The Boeing had not been advised about the traffic in time.
