A Wizz Air Malta Airbus A321-200N, registration 9H-WBU performing flight
W6-2043 from Krakow (Poland) to Stavanger (Norway), was climbing through 6000 feet out of Krakow's runway 25 when the crew shut an engine (PW1133G) down, levelled off at FL150 and returned to Krakow for a safe landing on runway 25 about 30 minutes after departure.
Poland's PKBWL reported: "During the climb after takeoff at an altitude of approximately 6,000 ft, engine vibration occurred and then the engine shut down. The captain of the aircraft decided to return to the departure airport and reported PAN PAN. The engine remained shut down for the remainder of the flight. The approach and landing were uneventful." An investigation has been opened.
