An Air Canada Boeing 787-9, registration C-FRSE performing flight AC-57 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 304 people on board, was enroute at FL320 over Italy when the crew received a left hydraulic low quantity indication and decided to divert to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), where the aircraft landed without further incident about one hour later.

The Canadian TSB reported a leak was found in the engine driver pump return line. Engine pump, return line and filter were replaced.

A replacement A330-300 registration C-GHKW continued the flight and reached Toronto with a delay of about 6 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Frankfurt for about 80 hours before positioning to Toronto.
