An Air Canada Rouge Airbus A320-200, registration C-GFWX performing flight
RV-1525 from Fredericton,NB to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 74 people on board, was climbing out of Fredericton when the crew heard a loud noise about mid aircraft , mid-center of cabin, shortly followed by "HYD OVERHEAT" and "GREEN HYD LO LVL" messages. The crew worked the related checklists, declared PAN PAN and continued the flight to Toronto. On approach to Toronto the crew performed an alternate gear extension and landed the aircraft safely.
On Sep 16th 2022 the Canadian TSB reported: "the flight crew heard an abnormal noise from the mid-center of the cabin. This was immediately followed by a HYD OVERHEAT and GREEN HYD LO LVL ECAM messages. The crew followed the ECAM procedures and declared a PAN PAN. Upon arrival in CYYZ the crew manually lowered the landing gear and subsequently the aircraft landed uneventfully with ARFF standing by. The aircraft came to a stop on the runway and after ARFF inspection was towed to the gate due to unavailable nosewheel steering. Maintenance found a hydraulic leak in the system and a faulty PTU. After the leak was repaired and the PTU replaced the aircraft returned to service."
