A Getjet Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Eurowings, registration LY-FAS performing flight EW-4679 from Hamburg (Germany) to Stockholm (Sweden), was climbing out of Hamburg's runway 33 when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 and returned to Hamburg for a safe landing on runway 05 about 30 minutes after departure.

The airline reported the aircraft sustained a bird strike into the left hand engine. The captain decided to return as a precaution.

A replacement A320-200 registration LY-DAE reached Stockholm with a delay of about 2 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Hamburg about 11.5 hours after landing.
