A Smartwings Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Eurowings, registration OK-TVL performing flight
EW-742 from Cologne/Bonn (Germany) to Varna (Bulgaria), was enroute at FL370 about 90nm south of Prague (Czech Republic) when the crew decided to divert to Prague due to electrical problems. The aircraft landed safely on Prague's runway 12 about 25 minutes later.
Czechia's UZPLN reported the crew received a "SOURCE OFF" indication for the right hand engine (CFM56) which indicated a malfunction in the integrated generator drive. The crew performed the related checklists and activated the APU as auxiliary power source. After consulting with dispatch and maintenance the crew decided to divert to Prague. The aircraft was released under minimum equipment list requirements, the generator was replaced the following day.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 80 minutes, then continued the flight and reached Varna with a delay of about 2 hours.
