A Lufthansa Cityline Canadair CRJ-900, registration D-ACNB performing flight LH-839 from Billund (Denmark) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany) with 89 passengers and 4 crew, was enroute at FL370 about 20nm eastnortheast of Hanover (Germany) when the crew decided to divert to Hanover reporting smoke in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely on Hanover's runway 09R about 20 minutes later.

The airport reported the 89 passengers and 4 crew left the aircraft normally, there were no injuries. There had been no fire on board. It is unclear and under investigation why smoke surfaced in the cockpit.
