A Lufthansa Airbus A340-300, registration D-AIGP performing flight LH-432 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was accelerating for takeoff from 25C when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed (about 135 knots over ground) after bird was ingested by the outboard left hand engine (CFM56). The aircraft slowed safely, stopped on the runway for inspection by emergency services and returned to the apron.

The rotation was cancelled.

The aircraft returned to service about 48 hours later.
