A PGA Portugalia Airlines Embraer ERJ-190 on behalf of TAP Air Portugal, registration CS-TPP performing flight TP-483 from Nice (France) to Lisbon (Portugal), departed from Nice's runway 04R when the aircraft turned left over the city instead of right over the Sea as required by the standard departure procedures. The aircraft overflew the Lenval Hospital at about 2500 feet, climbed further over the inner city now in a right hand turn taking the aircraft back towards the sea. About 3 minutes after the wrong turn the aircraft flew over the Mediterranean Sea again and continued to Lisbon for a landing without further incident.

France's Civil Aviation Authority reported that the aircraft had not been cleared for that left hand turn, the occurrence is being investigated.
