A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EFX performing flight
FR-1302 from Brussels Charleroi (Belgium) to Naples (Italy), departed Charleroi's runway 06 when the crew stopped the climb at FL060 due to a fuel leak. The runway was closed for about 70 minutes for cleaning. The aircraft entered a hold and subsequently diverted to Brussels Zaventem Airport (Belgium) for a safe landing on runway 19 about 40 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-DHN continued the flight the following day and reached Naples with a delay of about 16 hours.
According to information The Aviation Herald received the right hand fuel vent valve was defective.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Zaventem for about 36 hours before returning to service.
