A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EVK performing flight
FR-9561 from Faro (Portugal) to Belfast Aldergrove,NI (UK) with 189 people on board, departed Faro's runway 28 and was climbing to cruise level when the crew stopped the climb at about FL270 and decided to return to Faro after being informed that tyre debris had been found on the departure runway, that was identified to belong to their aircraft. The aircraft performed a low approach to Faro's runway 28, then entered a hold at 4000 feet to burn off fuel for about 35 minutes and subsequently landed on runway 28 about 82 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-EVF positioned to Faro, resumed the flight and is currently enroute estimated to reach Belfast with a delay of about 10.5 hours.
