A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EVT performing flight
FR-452 from Newcastle,EN (UK) to Riga (Latvia), was on final approach to Riga's runway 36 when the crew initiated a go around from about 1000 feet MSL reporting a flaps issue. The crew requested to enter a hold and advised they would perform a normal approach but wanted emergency services to check their brakes after landing. The aircraft landed safely on runway 36 at a normal speed about 40 minutes after going around.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Riga for about 14 hours before returning to service.
