A THY Turkish Airlines Airbus A321-200N, registration TC-LPB performing flight
TK-1358 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Istanbul (Turkey), was enroute at FL360 nearing Skopje (North Macedonia).
A Sunexpress Boeing 737-800, registration TC-SEZ performing flight XQ-690 from Dalaman (Turkey) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was enroute at FL360 nearing Skopje on a converging trajectory at the same time.
TCAS resolution advisories instructed the Boeing to climb while the A321 was instructed to descend. Both crews complied, the A321 subsequently continued the descend to FL340.
Both aircraft continued to their destinations for safe landings.
North Macedonia's Civil Aviation Authority opened an investigation into the occurrence into the severe loss of separation.
