A THY Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration TC-JOJ performing flight
TK-59 from Bangkok (Thailand) to Istanbul (Turkey), was climbing through FL270 out of Bangkok's runway 19R when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft returned to Bangkok for a safe landing on Bangkok's runway 19L about 80 minutes after departure.
A passenger reported the crew announced "Emergency descent!" to cabin crew, the oxygen masks did not deploy, and later explained there had been a loss of cabin pressure due to a technical failure.
On Feb 8th 2024 Thailand's AAIIC reported they have opened an investigation into the occurrence rated a serious incident and characterized the occurrence: "Events requiring the emergency use of oxygen by flight crew".
