A THY Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration TC-JJM performing flight TK-35 from Istanbul (Turkey) to Montreal,QC (Canada), was enroute at FL320 over Poland about 150nm eastnortheast of Vienna (Austria) when the crew decided to divert to Vienna. The aircraft landed safely on Vienna's runway 16 about 50 minutes later.

The airline reported a technical problem in one of the galleys, which was quickly resolved. The aircraft took the passengers back to Istanbul.

A passenger reported there had been smoke in the cabin at arrival.

A ground observer reported the aircraft dumped fuel near Vienna.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Vienna for about 17 hours, then returned to Istanbul and resumed service.

On Jul 28th 2024 The Aviation Herald received information, that the right hand air conditioning system was malfunctioning as well as both recirculation fans. Both recirculation fans were turned off on approach to Vienna. The passengers were taken to Montreal from Vienna the next day, the aircraft ferried back to Istanbul.
