A VivaAerobus Airbus A321-200, registration XA-VCC performing flight VB-1268 from Mexico City to Torreon (Mexico), landed on Torreon's runway 31 but struck its tail onto the runway.

The aircraft performed the return flight VB-1269 as well as two more rotations (VB-1022/VB-1023, VB-1108/VB-1109), then remained on the ground in Mexico City for 13 days before returning to service on Aug 17th 2024.

Mexico's AIB reported a tail strike on landing in Torreon caused unknown damage, there were no injuries. The occurrence is being investigated.
