A Westjet Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration C-FXYK performing flight
WS-129 from Calgary,AB to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 175 people on board, was enroute when the first officer became ill and was unable to continue duties. Another Westjet pilot travelling as passenger replaced the first officer, the aircraft continued to destination for a safe landing.
The Canadian TSB reported: "During cruise, the first officer reported feeling ill and was unable to continue their duties. One of the passengers on board was a Westjet pilot who was able to assume the first officer's duties. The incapacitated first officer sat in the cabin for the remainder of the flight. The flight crew did not declare an emergency or request a priority handling. The aircraft landed without further incident."
