NH-91 from Tokyo Haneda to Ishigaki (Japan) with 299 people on board, was on final approach to Ishigaki's runway 04 when the crew initiated a go around due to indication of a brakes malfunction. The aircraft climbed to 2000 feet and entered a hold while working the checklists, then the crew decided to divert to Okinawa for a safe landing on longer runway 18R about 70 minutes after the go around. Attending emergency services checked the runway for a possible leak of hydraulic fluid without finding any anomaly.
Ishigaki's runway 14/32 is 2000 meters/6500 feet long, Naha's runway 18R 2700 meters/8900 feet long.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 5.5 hours, then returned to Tokyo Haneda and remained on the ground in Tokyo for another 10 hours before returning to service.
