A Malta Air Boeing 737-8 MAX on behalf of Ryanair, registration 9H-VVA performing flight FR-7208 from Cologne (Germany) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Cologne's runway 13L when the crew reported a possible bird strike. While the aircraft climbed to cruise level 370 the airport performed a runway inspection which revealed bird remains and some aircraft parts on the runway. The aircraft continued to Palma Mallorca for a safe landing on runway 24L.

The aircraft however was unable to depart for the return flight and is currently still on the ground in Palma.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration 9H-QCL departed Mallorca with a delay of about 2.5 hours.
