A Malta Air Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Ryanair, registration 9H-QDV performing flight FR-3745 from Brussels (Belgium) to Pisa (Italy), was on approach to Pisa's runway 04R when the crew aborted the approach and entered a hold due to split flaps. The crew subsequently prepared for a flaps 15 landing and landed safely on runway 04R at a higher than normal speed (about 170 knots over ground) about 20 minutes after aborting the first approach.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Pisa about 7 hours after landing.
