A Malta Air Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Ryanair, registration 9H-QBK performing flight FR-9014 from London Stansted,EN (UK) to Barcelona,SP (Spain) with 184 passengers and 6 crew, was descending through about FL250 towards Barcelona when the cabin pressure warning activated and the flight crew donned their oxygen masks. Due to the mountaineous area ATC cleared the flight down to FL160 only, the crew manually released the passenger oxygen masks. Later, clear of the mountains, the aircraft continued the descent and landed safely on Barcelona's runway 24R about 22 minutes later.

Spain's CIAIAC opened an investigation into the occurrence.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Barcelona until Aug 16th 2026 for about 67 hours.
