A Malta Air Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Ryanair, registration 9H-QBI performing flight
FR-2753 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Milan Malpensa (Italy), was climbing out of Madrid's runway 36R when the aircraft collided with a vulture causing damage to the left hand engine (CFM56) inlet. The crew stopped the climb at 13000 feet and returned to Madrid for a safe landing on runway 32R about 20 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration 9H-QEY reached Milan with a delay of about 2:40 hours.
