A VivaAerobus Airbus A320-200N, registration XA-VIJ performing flight
VB-1057 from Guadalajara to Mexico City (Mexico), was in the initial descent from FL350 to FL260 towards Mexico City when the left hand engine (PW1127G) failed. The crew attempted to restart the engine without success. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Mexico City's runway 05R.
Mexico's AIB rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation. The aircraft did not sustain any damage.
